Leicester Distance Meet 13 Dec 2010

A squad of 30 swimmers from within the LASA development and talent squads raced over 5 sessions during the first weekend in December at the COLSC distance meet.
The meet was a great success with swimmers surpassing performance predictions at such an early phase in the training season, gaining personal best times and achieving midland qualifying times. Some swimmers raced these distance events for their very first time e.g. 1500m and 800m freestyle, and the 400 freestyle and 400 individual medley.
In total the squads achieved 19 MDQT from 14 swimmers with the others making great strides towards achieving their targets. The squads proudly did not receive any disqualifications and also achieved 7 gold medals 6 silver medals and 5 bronze medals between them.
All swimmers conducted themselves with a high degree of professionalism and have returned to training with increased vigour ready for the next challenge. A detailed report showing placings, split times, personal best times, finals results and MDQ times achieved will be published shortly.

Lincoln Vulcans Meet Report 05 Nov 2010

A small group of swimmers from the LASA squads competed at the Lincoln Vulcans level 1 long course meet at Ponds forge Sheffield. For most this was their first ever experience of this pool and all swimmers handled themselves well.
The swimmers gained a total of 45 personal best times-this is quite an achievement at such a high level meet and all the swimmers are to be congratulated on their success.
Also the squad gained 2 gold medals ( Molly Hey and Milly Scotchbrook) , 2 silver medals ( Molly Hey and Milly Scotchbrook)and 4 bronze medals ( Simon Scully, Alex Gregory, Rhys Chiles and Milly Scotchbrook). Well done to these swimmers on their outstanding medal success!

Golden Knight 07 jun 2010

Competing at the first weekend of the Midland Age Group Championships Hannah Knight became a double gold medallist. In her first Regional finals Hannah became the Girls 10yrs Midland Age Group Champion in the 200m Butterfly and the 400m Ind.Medley Hannah also collected a silver medal in the 200m Freestyle and placed top 8 in the 100m Breaststroke and Backstroke.

Jeffrey Double 07 jun 2010

Competing at his first Midland Age Group Championship Regain Jeffrey completed a finals double in the Boys 10yrs 200m Butterfly and 400m Ind.Medley After a tough race in the 400m Ind.Medley in which several of his rivals where disqualified, Regan finished on the podium in the bronze medal position.

Knight Continues to Dominate 14 jun 2010

After two weekends at the Midland Age Group Championships Hannah Knight continued to dominate the podium in the Girls 10yrs age category. Hannah finished the championships with 5 medals including being crowned Midland Champion for 200m Butterfly and the 200m/400m Ind.Medley. Full results can be found by clicking here->
